Blanchard -- A Blanchard man is dead as a result of a single-car accident about 9:30 p.m. Monday (August 28, 2006) on Blanchard-Latex Road near Kingwood Drive.

Robert Paul Orendorff, 42, of Blanchard was driving a 1997 Ford Escort station wagon west when it crossed the center line, went airborne and hit the creek bank, trapping him inside, Caddo sheriff spokeswoman Cindy Chadwick said.

Orendorff was flown by Life Air to LSU Hospital in Shreveport, where he was pronounced dead, she said.

The cause of the accidnet is still u nder investigation.
